Today’s service reminded me that on August 14 2018, we gathered in Houston’s City Hall, where Mayor Sylvester Turner graciously presented the ELCA’s 30,000 youth (that gathered that summer) and Faith in Action (a collaboration of faith based leaders committed to the preservation of Third Ward) for their collaboration during the ELCA Youth Gathering. He declared August 14 EEDC-Faith in Action and ELCA Youth Gathering Day in Houston.
