Our trip to Family Camp began with a brief stop at St. Paul La Grange for provisions and an obligatory break at St. Paul’s Ark Playground.
Thursday, July 2. 2026 – The first day of Lutherhill Family Camp
First night’s dinner was Katya’s favorite: spaghetti!
What a difference three years makes!
After dinner, at our first gathering, notice she is completely prepared for night swim, which we enjoyed every night, 9-10 pm.
Later, after an activity, we had evening worship.
We finished the day with s’mores and a night swim.
Friday, July 3, 2026
Friday we were blessed with a good sign: a friendly bunny visitor. Well, actually this is the bunny’s home, and we are the visitors.
Boomer is popular on cardboard, on T-shirts, and in person.
After lunch we were joined by Grandma Susan so we headed to the Jersey Barnyard to meet, feed, and learn about sheep, goats, cows, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and other critters.
Katya, Leah, and I took a hayride up to the dairy farm, learned about Jersey cows and milked a one for the first time. Katya age 4 and me age 64 shared this first-time experience together.

More s’mores after evening worship, fail by activities, some more s’mores, and night swim.
Saturday, July 4 was the big day: the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, so, of course they treated us to sparkles❤️, even in the hair!
Katya was patient while I led a Bible study at 10 am cuz most of her group went to a parade ima. Nearby town, but then at 11 she got treated to a water-balloon fight, popsicles, and play in the play area.
And, of course, the coup de gras, fireworks! Kudos to Jeremy Lavender!
Sunday, July 5 was breakfast, pack-up, the closing worship.
