Today was a really fun day surrounded by children, camp counselors, bicycles, hot dogs, giveaways, and prayer. We celebrated the baptism of Weston Mills. We had visitors from Hope Academy in Guatemala. We were blessed!

Many thanks to Rory, Rowdy, Scott, Kathy, Garrett, Lloyd, Glenn, Bradley, and so many more who put this together, prepared food, served, built and supervised the obstacle course, provided bells and spoke decorations, and repaired bikes.

Lots of fun, lots of soul, and it’s not very often I get to ride a bicycle down the center aisle of the church on Sunday morning.

After gathering songs led by Lutherhill staff, we began with a baptism of Weston Mills.

After the children’s message, Carolyn Draper told us a little bit about the camp season and the theme: All My Love. She shared about this year’s support of Hope Academy in Guatemala, and introduced our guests from Guatemala.

The theme verse for this summer is John 13:34-35: “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Blessing of the Lutherhill Camp Staff

This was really fun. We had the children bless the Lutherhill staff along with Rory, the congregation, and yours truly. You can see the children down front. We turned them around and had them raise their hands and blessing of the counselors.

Following worship we headed outside for the blessing of the bikes.

Lloyd and Garrett volunteered their expert professional repair services:

This is Darren Rumph from Salt Lake City. He grew up at Zion Lutheran in SLC. He’s been on staff three years at Lutherhill, and a LYLE a couple of years before that. Has thoughts of becoming a pastor!
