This summer the texts take us through Genesis (OT), Romans (NT), and Matthew (Gospel). While not liturgical observances, the preacher should be aware that there are two big national observances coming up: the semiquincentennial (250th) anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on Saturday, July 4, 2026 and the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks on Friday, September 11, 2026. It is wise to be aware that this will be floooding our peoples’ news feeds and consciousness.
