As this Hindu Temple in Stafford (just outside of Houston) attests, Houston is increasingly ethnically diverse.
Here are some articles that track the growing diversity.

Why does it make you sad?

Yes indeed….diversity…diversity. Let all have a Kum-bai-ya moment. Let us praise the Lesbian Mayor and her assault against Christian pastors who are not “on board” with gay marriage, and on the “wrong side of history” as the elitist Fascists are prone to accuse. After all, the pesky Constitution gets in the way too much…..and religious freedom and viewpoint expression need to be relogated to the dust bin of history. Diversity is what we need..and of course secular humanism, but also….we must promote perversity as well. Sarcasm seems so unChristian, but I cannot share your optimism about Houston, or any place in America. But since ELCA has the acceptable values, the Fascists will leave your denomination alone and target the faithful churches which are now deemed to be too orthodox, and on the wrong side of history.
