The UN is obviously pro-Hamas, because it is Hamas that is the aggressor, using Palestinians as shields, building tunnels under Gaza for terrorist operations, using cement supposedly shipped for building infrastructure as needed to expand the tunnel system. I suppose the only way the UN would understand the problem is if terrorists shelled UN headquarters from New Jersey and located the missiles under the cover of hospitals and elementary schools. The Hamas enjoy seeing Pakestinians killed, because otherwise they would not cowardly set up operations within civilian populations, then use the media to condemn Israel for shooting back.

How do you know that Hamas is using Palestinians as shields? Because the Israeli government says so? Hmm. Perhaps they are. But I would be wary of believing the propaganda machines from either side.

The information concerning Hamas incorporating terrorist operations within the Palestinian community is documented. It is not propaganda. The tunnel complex is real and verified as a system of entry points leading to private homes, hospitals, and schools. Palestinians cooperate with Hamas either willingly or some through coercion. Ambulances are marked as emergency vehicles but often carry no patients but are used to transport missiles and explosives. This is also documented. Hamas does not want peace, only occasional truces, which allows them to regroup. Hamas has declared war on the Jewish people, and the ultimate goal is genocide and annihilation of the Jewish state. If they desired peaceful coexistence, Israel has always been willing, and in fact, would have done much to improve the future relationship and help them to prosper. But this conflict is historical and generational, and will not abate unless a new generation of Palestinians can overcome the ideological extremists and create a new and safer climate for both ethnic societies. I believe we need to pray for a peaceful solution, but having followed this conflict closely, I believe it is Hamas which wants to keep this conflict going, and in their public relations media, they have gathered support from many quarters, including from you and other misguided and uninformed individuals.

I’ve never seen any evidence that Hamas uses children as human shields. Israeli authorities claim it, but I’ve never seen any documentation. Can you point me to something reliable?

If I fire missiles or rockets at you from a verified school location in Gaza, then I am using children as shields and hope that you will fire back: when you do I shall accuse you of killing children and will release a statement of protest to the world media and the UN. There is ample documentation, but if you only want to believe Hamas and discount anything the Israeli media says, then you might have believed Hitler when he announced that the Jews were being resettled, not exterminated, and that the final solution was merely deportation.

Again I would love to see some documentation for this, rather than hypothetical hearsay.

The evidence is there and available if you do an Internet search, as even today the news reported how the Israeli Defense Forces showed foreign journalists tunnels going into homes and other locations….but if you choose to consider it “hypothetical hearsay” then you suffer from selective discernment and your mind is already made up. I believe you are pro-Palestinian in your views, and consider Hamas the victim in this continuing conflict, but this position in not viable.

I would like to ask you how Israel should respond to rocket and terrorist attacks into the heart of their country? There have been 12,000 missiles launched into Israel in the past decade. Without the protective air defense in place, Israeli citizens, women and children, would be killed. Is there any feeling on your part for them? Or are your sympathies only with Hamas and the Palestinians who seek to kill all Jews? Would you prefer Israel do nothing, not retaliate, just sit by and allow their people to be destroyed? Would that please you? As a Christian, I am sure you must understand that Hamas will show no mercy or pity for Christians as well as Jews, and in the Mideast today, Christians are persecuted. Does any of this make sense to you? You are an educated man, but you seem to ignore the history of this area and the struggle between Islam and the West.

I’ll answer your question when you answer mine.

Tell me they were shooting rockets from this school. C’mon people. Think. Atrocities are being committed and he only way to make it look acceptable is to say “they were human shields.” http://www.itv.com/news/2014-07-24/itv-news-witnesses-aftermath-of-un-school-attack-in-gaza/
