Mike, I never was an often watcher of “cheers”…well don’t watch much TV anyway except when the Cleveland Indians are on or the Rockets…but what a nice piece…
Last Summer I attended the 50th wedding anniversary of a couple married in our synod by Pastor Milroy Gregor…he came to the party too…must have been one of his early weddings… and as the bride and groom shared stories of their courting and engagement and pre-marital counseling…the groom said…”Pastor Gregor told me two things that would make for a happy marriage… 1) keep God first and go to worship every Sunday and 2) memorize these words, ‘yes, dear, what ever you want…’ “I still do that,” he said
Their children and grandchildren are active members of ELCA congregations in our synod and are productive, faithful servants in God’s kingdom…doing what Luther suggested…”do work that gives back to the community…” So hats off to Milroy for being a good pastor all these years!
Truth be told, I didn’t know Woody was that smart! Thanks..what a great conversation starter…
