Welcome to the newest deacon ordained in the Gulf Coast Synod. Congratulations, Jessica Noonan!
“You have been called as a minister of word and service to give leadership in the church’s mission to proclaim the gospel through word and deed.”
When I read these words in the liturgy, as I have so many times, I couldn’t help but think about how Jessica has been doing this as long as I’ve known her. Her leadership of service learning at the ELCA Youth Gatherings means that she has led around 100,000 youth in the serving the world in Jesus’ name. She has led faith formation in her home and led at her congregation.
Jessica served on the Gulf Coast Synod staff for a time, like Deacon Aimee Elles, Deacon Beth Hartfiel, and Deacon Peggy Hahn, below.
