Five years ago, Aimee Elles came on synod staff in an administrative capacity. She had done similar work at Shared Lutheran Ministries of Fayette County, and prior to that youth ministry at St. Paul in LaGrange, Texas, among other things. At one time she had been interested in the medical field. During her time on staff, she discerned a call to hospital chaplaincy. She applied for CPE and diaconal studies at Wartburg, Theological Seminary. A few years and one pandemic later, she is serving a fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Yesterday, June 3, 2023 she was ordained a deacon at Christ the King Lutheran Church, in Houston, Texas, where she and her husband Daryl are members.
