I’m at Zion Lutheran Church in The Heights of Houston for their annual chili supper. They have a record turnout this year. It’s been growing each year. The chili supper is a fundraiser to help support four seminary students that they are sponsoring. Pastor Tracey Schultz is pictured here with her husband Chris. I learned recently that Chris is the great great grandson of Christoph Sager, one of the first Lutheran pastors in Texas, from the St. Chrischona school. Chris is an architect in San Antonio who owns his own firm. He’ll be relocating to Houston, so let’s help him network. Synod staff met today at Zion to check it out.
